SPEAKER 3: Hey, I'm Danny Boy.
SPEAKER 4: And I'm John Newman. Welcome to Car.
SPEAKER 3: Well, what's up? I can hear, I can hear, I can hear the motorcycle drive by.
SPEAKER 4: There's a guy in a moped that drives by like two or three times a day. So he picked the show to, to make, his, his, you know, his presence known.
SPEAKER 3: He's obviously rushing home to watch. We appreciate it. So, Ruben says in the thumbnail, why doesn't John's head? His torso? I don't know if that's the thumbnail or.
SPEAKER 4: I don't know. That's my real, I didn't do any photoshopping on that one.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER 3: What's up Steven. Hey, hey, hey, did the Mets win?
SPEAKER 4: No, they're losing 8 to 2.
SPEAKER 3: You got the Pauls.
SPEAKER 4: Paul Keens is pitching for the Pirates.
SPEAKER 3: So you had no shot.
SPEAKER 4: I thought they were gonna get no hit. Like that's my worst prediction before the game. So Ku Kudos to the Mets, they got four hits and two runs.
SPEAKER 3: So, so do you think they're gonna be buyers or sellers?
SPEAKER 4: Well, I think they should be sellers with a lot though. I mean, how about every.
SPEAKER 3: Next, how about Severino?
SPEAKER 4: I'm not a big Severino guy. So I'd still be a seller. They, they do gotta get some pitching though. So I mean, for, if not this year, just for the future.
SPEAKER 3: So just curious, you know, as a team that's looking for pitching, Ruben says two home runs by Brian Reynolds. I don't think the Mets are gonna win. Probably not when you're facing p schemes anyway.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah.
SPEAKER 3: Well, welcome to another Friday night. It is card menus episode 42.
SPEAKER 4: The Jackie Robinson episode, it is the Jackie Robinson episode, but we're not gonna talk about Jackie Roberts.
SPEAKER 3: No, but we're not wearing any other jersey numbers.
SPEAKER 4: I'm wearing a rated rookie shirt.
SPEAKER 3: I'm wearing my change of shirt, so I didn't look like a psychedelic trip. Mets are buyers as of now. Bullpen help.
SPEAKER 4: Well, that I tell you what the s the Syracuse Mets bullpen looks good but, you know, doing it at AAA and doing it at, at, you know, the 12 year old kid strikes again.
SPEAKER 3: Yes, it's past his bedtime. That's what I wanna know. Do his parents know?
SPEAKER 4: So when I grow up, I'm gonna pick on older guys too.
SPEAKER 3: Yes. Yes, I lost it on the headboard. Tell your parents that I lost it on the headboard.
SPEAKER 3: So we are going to the National. We are not big autograph guys, but the autograph part of the National is huge. We checked it out. Pretty amazing West. So we wanna go through, talk about the guys and talk about whether or not we would wanna get their autographs and then we'll go through and talk about some of their cards.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. First off full transparency. I'm not gonna, in reality, I'm not going to be getting any autographs at the National unless I happen to run into one of these guys like offside or something like that.
SPEAKER 4: But I'm not standing in line, but at the same time, Kudos to Tristar, they always bring in the best of the best and we're gonna see that here. The, the lineup here, man or some of the gro you know, goats of, of the game, you know, it's just incredible list, and it's like this every, every year.
SPEAKER 3: So, autographs do you own? I, are you a card autograph guy? Only?
SPEAKER 4: I'm, I'm more, I have some memorabilia signed. It's not my forte, but I'm more like cards that come out of packs. Like I'Ll, I'Ll hunt for those more than memorabilia.
SPEAKER 3: So you're not collecting autographed baseball.
SPEAKER 4: I do have index cards. I do have like ps A authentic index cards that are signed.
SPEAKER 4: I have some, a couple of jerseys. I wouldn't say I'm, I'm huge. I'm more, I have more autograph cards than memorabilia, but I have some mem memorabilia that sign.
SPEAKER 3: Ruben says I'Ll be trying to sell my autograph tickets. I'Ll get with my VIP package. I don't wanna wait in those lines.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. Yeah. The, the lines they, they've gotten better in recent years but, you know, people have said they've spent half a day or, or significant amount of time, you know, on, on the line. So you gotta keep that in mind. You really gotta like who you're, you're getting signed. Right. Yeah. A absolutely.
SPEAKER 3: All right. So you want to start looking at some of these people?
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. And, and like I said, if either one of us is just one of our picks, we'll stop there and, and share a card.
SPEAKER 3: All right, Barry says he loves all of us. I think people do. I think one of the things we're talking about was it Mariano Rivera? We just looked up quickly. I mean, his autograph was, was 3 400. I'm not buying, I'm not dropping that for fun. I'd have, I can tell you right now.
SPEAKER 4: I, now in, in Mariano's defense, in, in its defense, a very high percentage of that goes to, I believe a Venezuelan charity. What like food or supply? So I I, so that's part.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. Yeah. No, I know it is pricey. It is. You got one of the best signatures though, man. Really sweet. Auto. If you've never seen a Mariano Rivera autograph, look it up. It's very curvy. Yeah, it's very cool.
SPEAKER 3: All right. So let's see if we can get this to come up on the stage.
SPEAKER 3: Oh, look at that. So right away Robbie Aamar, Carlos Baerga Len Barker, Johnny Bench and Wade Boggs. I mean, if you're a hall of f collector, you've got three right here. A Lamar bench and Bogs.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, one of these get one of these is my pick. I'Ll share my card right here. The second year Johnny Bench classic card. Get down in catching position.
SPEAKER 4: Young baby face bench. Got your, your top all star rookie gold trophy. Just would be a cool card to get signed. I know people like rookie card sign. This would be my first choice to get a bench card, side.
SPEAKER 4: And arguably, you know, some people when we did the episode with the greatest living ball players, there was a few bench calls, David Moody who listens to the show, not live messaged me after the show and said it's Johnny Bench hands down.
SPEAKER 4: He d he D Qed Bonds because of the, the, HGH. But he said bench is the greatest living ball player that we have. So, that's not why I picked this, but that's, I'm just, you know, that's his, you know, arguably he's in the, he's in the discussion, right? And this is a classic card and bench is there almost every year. So that, that's pretty cool.
SPEAKER 3: Well, he takes care of, I mean, he's got Young kids actually. Yeah.
SPEAKER 4: God bless him.
SPEAKER 3: I, I can't do it. So, you know, God, like you said, God bless him for doing it.
SPEAKER 3: All right. So, I could definitely see, I'm not a Bogs fan, Robbie Alamar, I thought was great, but I'm not a huge fan. Bench would be the only one and I would have gone with the same card. You did, no doubt about it. So, moving on, this was a tough one for me.
SPEAKER 3: Carlton Chambliss Charboneau Clemens and Cologne The Seas Steve Carlton for me. I would absolutely love to get his autograph. I, I don't have a specific card that I was tied to. I mean, I guess it would be his rookie card.
SPEAKER 3: I'm not a big Carlton card fan lover, but I love him as a pitcher.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, the lefty.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, he's arguably one of the best living pitchers, of all time, along with Koufax who's not at the event.
SPEAKER 4: How about Joe Sharber making the, making the, the list? Probably without knowing for 100% certainty. Probably one of the more affordable autographs, in the lineup.
SPEAKER 3: Pro probably a little bit less than some of the names we're gonna say. Yeah.
SPEAKER 3: All right. How about Andre Dawson, Eckersley Fisk, Francona and Garvey. Anybody here catch you?
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, it's definitely no, no one made my my list to share a card with. But you can see the Cleveland flavor, right? With Charne Francona.
SPEAKER 4: Eckersley was with the Indians. There was someone up by Arga on previous you mentioned. So they're definitely going with some, some hometown flavor on this lineup.
SPEAKER 3: Who's your favorite rookie out of these.
SPEAKER 4: Rookie card or? Yeah, I think I'Ll go with that, that Steve Garvey 1971. The Black Border card.
SPEAKER 3: Over the multiplayer fisk.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. Yeah, the fisk is cool but you know, we always like those single player. I do anyway, Dawson's on four with three other guys on his.
SPEAKER 4: I actually have, I also shout out to the sports card shop. I have a Dawson Rookie card auto. Thanks to them guys. So they open at the store. I'm putting this in. Oh, it's 14, 2 Pirates.
SPEAKER 3: They've opened it up a little bit. It's funny. All right, here's, almost a, almost a clean sweep on all of Lamers. Yeah.
SPEAKER 4: Sorry, Felix. You're not getting in but, you're still king. Apparently he was on the path for a while. He was, he was, he kind of toiled at the end and, not gonna get in.
SPEAKER 4: None of these made my list but they, they're not short on talent. Like you said, all four out of five are Hall Of Famers. I've met, Goose Gossage. He scared me as a kid. And when I met him, you know, I had a conversation with him and I told him as a kid in Brooklyn, he scared me. He goes, how about now? And I said, no, not as much. So that was a fun, a fun conversation.
SPEAKER 3: So if money is no issue, I'm not gonna lie. I would love to get this in a 1010.
SPEAKER 3: I mean that we, the.
SPEAKER 4: Only thing does it bother you that it has like a fim o on it already. That always bothers me. I'm not gonna lie.
SPEAKER 3: I don't want, I don't want the new autograph on top of the old autograph. That's the only thing I wouldn't want.
SPEAKER 4: But then you get like, it's like you're seeing double potentially.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, I hear you. I'm not at the Facsimile Autos don't bother me, but it would bother me if I was getting that card really signed. That's, you know, the card itself doesn't bother me, but getting that card signed would bother me. That'd be and said, I think one of my cards I picked, if not more than one, have that though. So we'll, we'll stay tuned.
SPEAKER 3: Ruben says he would want a Piazza or Griffey if they were there both for my Diamond Kings Hall Of Fame run. I can see that.
SPEAKER 4: Neither one are there.
SPEAKER 3: Mookie says Real Auto on top of facsimile auto isn't great. No. Right on top.
SPEAKER 4: I wouldn't have them. I would hope they wouldn't put it on top. But in some of these cars we're gonna put it like above it and then you see a double.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah, it's, it's one of those problems I'd like to have. Yeah.
SPEAKER 3: I want, so I would take Ricky, I'm a Vlad Guerrero fan, but his autograph doesn't do anything specific for me but Rick Anderson, we talked about him and greatest living player.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. And I had him too low. I, I, if I did that show again, I'd move him up higher.
SPEAKER 3: So I think he's somebody, you know, that is probably underrated on the autograph scale for sure.
SPEAKER 4: For sure. I don't have a Ricky Henderson Auto. So I would not mind having one if that's all right.
SPEAKER 3: I think this this is an interesting group. I'Ll let you go through this group.
SPEAKER 4: Hey, you got Reggie. I, a lot of people know Reggie's significance to my hobby. Journey. Chipper Jones. A, a Braves fan. Favorite. A Justice right there. Another Brave Justice also played in Cleveland Kluber. Here we go with some Cleveland flavor and then be Larkin Ohio flavor.
SPEAKER 4: Not, not, with the Indians. One of these guys, did, make my list, I'Ll, I'Ll put this up here in a second as it loads like Google Slides. But man, these are all again, Justice and Kluber are not, but the rest of them are all a favorite. So, here you go. Really?
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, this was the car that started my collecting journey, man. Well, that's 1st 1st pack I ever opened. I don't have the original card. I do have the card graded in a PS A eight. It's on the wall over there and it reminds me of and I'm Reggie Jackson is not my favorite player. It wasn't even my favorite. Yankee was Thurman Munson.
SPEAKER 4: But by this time Thurman was gone, unfortunately. And Reggie Jackson was could have ran for mayor of New York City and won in Mr October to a seven year old kid in Brooklyn who was a Yankee fan at that given moment. Reggie was Reggie and so this, this card was in the 1st 1979 pack I ever opened. I apologize if you've heard this story at Nauseam.
SPEAKER 4: So I would get this card side. There's like, if I was getting a Reggie Jackson Auto on any card I, of my choosing, I would pick the card that started it all. The 79 taps.
SPEAKER 3: I agree with Reggie. I would, I would probably gone more with the chalk on the rookie card. But your story is far more important.
SPEAKER 4: But that's why, that's what's the beauty of the hobby, right?
SPEAKER 3: We have the beauty of the autograph is the connection with the player. Yeah.
SPEAKER 4: So 79 times, man, this was like the fourth or fifth card in that first pack. And here we are what, 45 years later doing card matches and, and I'm still in cards, still talking about that card. Still talking about it. I have it in PS A eight. It's probably a 1020 bucks. It's not the value, it's the significance.
SPEAKER 3: I thought about going with Reggie. I thought about going with the Diamond kings.
SPEAKER 3: But like I said, I would have gone with the rookie. I didn't load the card, the picture of the card. Everybody knows what the, his rookie looks like. But, but he's in the small hall without a doubt. Now, this is an interesting group.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, you wanna go through it?
SPEAKER 3: I, I do.
SPEAKER 3: Pedro Fred Mcgriff, Big Poppy Dave Parker and Tony Perez.
SPEAKER 4: Have you noticed, by the way, these are in alphabetical order. So that's if you picked up on it.
SPEAKER 4: No, Cleveland Love here. Just because they're in alphabetical order. But you got, what? Four Hall Of Famers, right. Dave Parker. Arguably. Right on that cusp. Man. There's a lot of, you know, you know, people who think he should be in, I'm, I'm, I can be convinced I'm not opposed.
SPEAKER 4: And, you know, I'm not a big David Ortiz, I know the Red Sox are obviously a popular team. How old am I when I first came to Syracuse, Fred Mcgriff was hitting Majestic home runs for the Syracuse Chiefs as the AAA ball club of the Toronto Blue Jays.
SPEAKER 4: So I got to see Minor League Hall Of Famer Fred Mcgriff. So I don't want, I don't ask, I, I probably have some Fred Mcgriff Auto somewhere here before he was what we know him as today.
SPEAKER 4: Just cause I had card signed Minor League card, signed of them.
SPEAKER 4: So none of these made my, my, my picks but not short on talent either.
SPEAKER 3: Mark Coyle says he's got Pedro and Poppy that he take Dave Parker. Yeah, I mean, out of this list, it's a, it's an interesting group. What's up, Warren?
SPEAKER 4: Never late. You will Right. I will not be late again. 100 times on the chalkboard. Let us know when you're done.
SPEAKER 3: Thank you, Bart.
SPEAKER 3: All right. Now, this, I saw this group?
SPEAKER 4: Oh, Piazza, is there, Piazza is there.
SPEAKER 3: There you go.
SPEAKER 4: We are. Stand correct. And we said he wasn't there but he is.
SPEAKER 3: Ri Rico Petrocelli, Mike Piazza Albert Phol, Tim Raines and Manny Ramirez. Can we say the po ho and Manny Ramirez might have been the best right-handed hitters all around for, for quite some time.
SPEAKER 4: I think you could say pa which, by the way, he makes this card makes my list here. All right.
SPEAKER 3: Well, then, go ahead. I'Ll let you take this. All right.
SPEAKER 4: Here's a weird, it's not a weird card, but, well, let me put it up. You got your pull hose in eight year old chrome, dual rookie, right? So then I gotta get the pull hose side here and then it's a chase to get the hunt to get the I year old side.
SPEAKER 4: So they both side talk about and I believe they'll both be going in the Hall Of Fame in the same year. I think they're both eligible. They're both first ballot Hall Of Famers. They're both, getting in. It'll be interesting. Chrome cards can be tricky, to get signed. But it's, it's not impossible.
SPEAKER 4: You know, cause the gloss, but, that would be a cool card, right? To get one half of it done in Cleveland and then somehow add the Ichiro, the com delete the, chrome rookie.
SPEAKER 3: The chrome, the chrome. You just have to be careful with, it. Shouldn't be really. Definitely cool.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. Yeah, you definitely have to let it dry before you, like, put it into anything or, or anything like that.
SPEAKER 3: There's nothing worse than watching somebody put it right into a plastic bag and it all comes right off. Yeah. Or a sleeve. Yeah. Even the athletes now have gotten nice about telling people, you know, I've seen them tell them to, to let it air dry.
SPEAKER 4: They don't want to sign again.
SPEAKER 3: Getting back to my Manny Ramirez, Warren says Manny is the best I've seen live, period. Right-handed hitter. He clarified letter, you know. Yeah.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, I'm kind of tied, he's kind of tied to using, you know, I think that's gonna hurt him. You know, you think he's a Hall Of Famer now or ever?
SPEAKER 3: I think without the, the suspicion he would have been 12 time all star, nine times silver slugger. World series MVP. Two time world series champ, you know, dominated in the postseason.
SPEAKER 4: What hurt, what hurts them more the suspicion or the weirdness or is it the combination of both?
SPEAKER 3: That's a great question. It's a combination of both.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah.
SPEAKER 3: Remember when he threw the baseball at the person in the stands?
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, I mean, there's a list of ping in, in, in the, behind the scoreboard, in left field. The whole Manny being Manny, he's done some other quirky stuff.
SPEAKER 3: So he, he caught the ball and ran and jumped up on the wall in Baltimore and gave the fans the high five the Red Sox fans after he caught the ball. I don't know. That was Manny being Manny there, there's something I love, I mean, even you're chuckling about it now, he was a character.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, he definitely was a character but I, I almost think the character sort of takes away from the greatness of, of, of the player. I know that sounds crazy. You know, I, I think it's a two way street, right? We look at Griffey sort of a character in a fun sort of way hat back with smiling but blowing bubble gum bubbles, having fun climbing the center field wall, robbing home runs. Right?
SPEAKER 4: And we, we, that's a positive kind of a character and then I think sort of Manny's things kind of hurt him in, in some cases. So it's kind of the both ends of the spectrum.
SPEAKER 3: I think it depends on the player. Y yes man. Manny diving to cut off Damon's throw that, see, I mean, some of that stuff is just, it's, it's precious.
SPEAKER 3: Manny still holds the postseason home run record. A lot of Manny love.
SPEAKER 4: Well, listen, the stats are there, the stats, are there stats are there?
SPEAKER 3: I mean, I want, I wonder what his I'm just curious, you think he sells for more or less than the, than the Mariano Rivera?
SPEAKER 4: You mean like what, what his cost? Yeah. Oh, way less than Mariano. It's not even, it's not even close. Ok.
SPEAKER 3: I can't look it up quickly and I'm not gonna do it anymore.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, I, I'Ll, I'Ll say, yeah.
SPEAKER 3: When you rented the movie, The Ring of Blockbuster years ago. Ok. What were you saying?
SPEAKER 4: No, II, I can look it up but I, I, I'm, I'm sure it's a pretty safe bet.
SPEAKER 4: I don't even think it's, it's close, it's not even a competition.
SPEAKER 3: I wonder we should have gone through and checked on who the most expensive autograph is.
SPEAKER 4: Well, didn't you look? Mariano's gotta be up there.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah, here's Manny. I got news for you. Manny's the same price as Mariana and maybe more expensive.
SPEAKER 4: No, II, I can't believe that and that, I don't know how many people are gonna.
SPEAKER 3: Well, Mark Coyle says that he doesn't think Manny signs much. Not, not around there anyway. So maybe it's a harder autograph. Really? Hodges what's going on?
SPEAKER 4: That's how that shocks me, man.
SPEAKER 3: Like Warren says, I've been buying many cars that reckless abandon, man.
SPEAKER 4: I get it. I get it. I mean, he's a guy that could get in the Hall Of Fame later on type of deal.
SPEAKER 3: The Cleveland area will turn out for Manning. It's an excellent point. He is in the Cleveland Hall.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. Yeah, that's a good point. That's a good point. Yeah.
SPEAKER 3: So that's an interesting one.
SPEAKER 4: So. All right. Here's this price? Oh my God. I am shocked. Wow. I told you 363 bucks.
SPEAKER 4: Wow. Who knew? Who knew? Not me. I didn't know.
SPEAKER 3: I mean, it's, it, it, it's, it's stunning what they get for the, for some of these.
SPEAKER 4: What is, what is, I gotta look, I'm not gonna look right now, but maybe like, what is a Manny Ramirez autograph card? Like out of a like certified pack? Like a pan, like.
SPEAKER 3: A premium auto?
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, I don't know if it, if it's, if going up in, waiting in line and going up and getting it's $363 what is his cards going for that price? Is Manny being Manny.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah, I love that comment. I mean, you know, may maybe we're just not given enough love there, John. I think you're.
SPEAKER 4: How much of it like is that because he's in Cleveland? Like, is it, is it the adjustment rate?
SPEAKER 3: I mean, I wonder if that's just the going rate for the, for most of the athletes?
SPEAKER 4: No. Well, all right. I, I, I'Ll, I'Ll save it for when he comes up but I, I looked at some of the other prices so it's not for the.
SPEAKER 3: Most on this list to be, you know, Paul Hols is the one that I think is obviously obviously would be one that I would want.
SPEAKER 4: That would be my first choice, not, you know, there's no, I like Piazza. I like Piazza.
SPEAKER 3: I don't, I don't know why, but I don't. So, are you ready to move to the next group?
SPEAKER 4: And yeah, we're getting towards the back end of the baseball, which is the, the high, the highest percentage of signers.
SPEAKER 3: Now, this, you can call a Hall Of Fame group and I bet in 1970 or 1980 let's say in 1980 if I were to ask you which four of these guys would be Hall Of Famers.
SPEAKER 4: Well, yeah, 1980.
SPEAKER 4: Well, I live, I was gonna say Mariano was out to the mid nineties.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, now listen, they Larry Doby day. So shout good, good call Mookie. Shout out to Larry Doby who basically was the Jackie Robinson of the American League if you will.
SPEAKER 4: Great Hall Of Fame. Yeah. Great Hall Of Fame career in his own, right.
SPEAKER 4: This will not make Mark Jim Rice will not make Marco's list. As he mentioned earlier in Chad. He's already got 30 autos. None of these guys made my list and not because they're not good. I just, I picked eight cards and none of these were one of them.
SPEAKER 3: You wouldn't want any rip and.
SPEAKER 4: I want, I, I don't like any of these guys. I just didn't pick them like I'm not, you know, it's all right.
SPEAKER 3: There's a ton of Ripke autographs out there. He's not a hard autograph to get. The only thing that I really can imagine me standing in line for trying to get would be if I could get this card autographed. I know it's a pipe dream but the, the orange police Ripkin Minor League Charlotte card.
SPEAKER 3: I would take that even over a Schmidt auto rookie or, or anything like that.
SPEAKER 4: You have a Ripkin autograph ball already. What do you think Ripken's auto cost at, at the National? I've just looked it up.
SPEAKER 4: I mean, I would assume it's in line with Mariano and no, it's less than Mariano's which is really, well, I don't want to say it should be, but it is how much? 203 bucks.
SPEAKER 3: Ok. That's probably more fair to his market. Yeah.
SPEAKER 4: 203. Why not? Just 200 or how about 199 33?
SPEAKER 3: I think it was for his father. Yeah, I could be mistaken. Mark Coyle says Hugo Schmidt that rice does sign often. Yeah. There's no argument about this beautiful working card to get auto on is the 92 gallery of stars.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I won't argue. I mean, I, like I said, I have a Ripkin autograph baseball.
SPEAKER 4: But I don't think there's a bad Ripkin card, right? I mean, to get signed.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah, here you go. John Paul Skins is a Hall Of Famer will be the next great pitcher. Could be the newest player to reach 300 wins.
SPEAKER 4: That's a big number. That's a big statement. But, he's looking good early right. By the way, Mariano is 312 bucks in case you're scoring at home.
SPEAKER 3: So maybe that's just got some taxes built in or something. Cal hasn't missed his signing since 82 Iron.
SPEAKER 4: I know he's, he's there. He's one of those, there's certain these guys that are just there every year.
SPEAKER 3: Well, Cal learned from Brooks, you know, Brooks signed everywhere all over town. So, you know, it's kind of a Baltimore tradition.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah.
SPEAKER 3: How about Pete Rose? What's he charging?
SPEAKER 4: I'm just curious. I, I just looked it up. It was like weird timing. You said that. What do you think Pete Rose charges for autograph?
SPEAKER 3: I mean, is he getting more than Ripkin? There's no way.
SPEAKER 4: No, he's, he's got to be.
SPEAKER 3: Half of Ripken.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, you're about right. 83 bucks for Pete Rose.
SPEAKER 4: Talk about he's everywhere, man. He signs in Vegas. He signs in Cooperstown. He'll come to your house if you fly him in.
SPEAKER 3: And he'll sign, he'll sign whatever you want him to write.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, you'll eat dinner with you.
SPEAKER 3: So, all right, let's, let's move on here. This is, this is talk about, a an eclectic group, Ted Simmons, Ozzie Smith, Corey Snyder, Sammy Sosa and Dave Stewart, one of these, and.
SPEAKER 4: None of these made my list.
SPEAKER 4: But you got a little more Cleveland flavor with, I think Dave Stewart did, did, I don't know, did he pitch in Cleveland? It was a very long call. Of course not the Cleveland. Definitely. Yeah, I mean, remember he was the toast of the, of baseball for a year or two. Had some pretty good years played on the Olympic team. I remember his rookie Carter at, at moments was in high demand.
SPEAKER 4: You know, so much for that. But yeah, it's a, it's a, you know, again, they're in alphabetical order so they're not in any kind of grouping.
SPEAKER 4: You know, Ozzie. Ozzie would probably be one of my first picks. I'm not a Sammy Sosa guy. But none of these made my actual pick of eight players.
SPEAKER 3: And Ted Simmons is a Hall Of Famer.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, reset, reset.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah.
SPEAKER 3: I'd go with Ozzie, I'd go with the Padres. 79. I thought I loaded the picture to be honest with you, but maybe I didn't.
SPEAKER 3: Yes, this was Corey Snyder and Joe Carter had cover of Sports Illustrated. Here come the Indians. They finished last.
SPEAKER 4: These Sports Illustrated Jinx apparently, right?
SPEAKER 3: I think it's, I think it's going strong. Dave Stewart was a heck of a pitcher.
SPEAKER 4: He is, they, I don't think he gets talked about enough. I don't think he's a Hall Of Famer. I'd like, I don't know what his like final stats, but he was definitely a big game pitcher, whether he's a Hall Of Famer or not, he was a guy. Like if he was on the mound, you knew you had your work cut out for you as a hitter. And as a team, Matty.
SPEAKER 3: K says, of course not, has always seemed to be a good dude. Was my first successful through the mail back in 87 always seemed to be down to earth. That's cool to hear Coyle says that he met Snyder in Cooperstown a few years ago.
SPEAKER 3: I wonder if was he a good guy too? More? And Warren says going with Ozzie as well. Yeah, I think, I mean, I think you got to go with Ozzie Smith out of that grouping.
SPEAKER 4: If I did meet Sammy Sosa, I'd ask him if he learned English again after the congressional hearings.
SPEAKER 3: He only forgot for a couple of minutes.
SPEAKER 3: This one I was curious for, I'Ll let you take this one because I was curious for your reactions to this because to me this is all, all the, like the big hall line.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, you got Pat Tabler Cleveland Indians, Frank Thomas Hall Of Famer, Jim Domey Hall Of Famer and Cleveland Indian Alan Tram, a Hall Of Famer Omar Viscal Cleveland Indian.
SPEAKER 4: And I believe he's in the hall.
SPEAKER 4: So, none of these guys officially made my list, but I, you know, I mentioned if I had a no name Frank Thomas. How, how could, how cool would a no name? Frank Thomas 90 tops be signed. If he signed it, would you get it signed?
SPEAKER 4: Like is what's the, what's the gut reaction on that? Like it's a, it's a iconic error card but do you have it signed? Does that hurt it help it? Does it become cooler sign? Does it? I think you get it signed?
SPEAKER 3: I think you got it signed right where the name's missing?
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. How cool would that be a Frank Thomas signature in the box where his name should have been printed?
SPEAKER 3: Mookie says Pat Tabler was an elite hitter with the bases loaded.
SPEAKER 4: He had lots of ever.
SPEAKER 3: If not one of them, I believe when you get Frank Thomas's autograph, wait for it. She'll like it too.
SPEAKER 4: New Ji.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, maybe I'Ll put new Ji in quotations and we get John Valentine.
SPEAKER 3: John Valentine to sign it as well.
SPEAKER 3: Mike, you missed it. We they had Joe Shaman earlier.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, we're going and alphabetic order on this group, I'm a, I'm a Frank Thomas fan just because I think this time another guy not match him and Griffey right from that error. Danny him and Griffey not mentioned in in performance enhancers and put up numbers very impressive with those folks that were you.
SPEAKER 3: So and by the way, I want to go back and give a shout out to Corey Snyder who randomly had a lot of people talk about what a good guy he was. So I did not know that about Corey Snyder. So that's nice to hear, Kirk says, he got Tram to sign a ball for him at a game. Good guy. Always like to hear that.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. You know, it's, it's nice because you hear a lot of the other side of that coin sometimes too much.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah. Unfortunately.
SPEAKER 3: All right, we're finishing up baseball. Well, let, let's, let's pass on Matt Wilcox because I think that's the chalk. So if it comes down to Winfield or ya.
SPEAKER 4: Dave Winfield, man, we talk about guys that played multiple sports, multitalented Robin Ya's underrated. I don't think Robin Ya, a heck of a player, dude. Yeah. No, I'm not taking away anything from Robin Ya.
SPEAKER 4: But Winfield was just, he could have played probably three professional sports if he had to dedicated himself to the other ones. You know what I mean? There's something to be said about that. Robin Yau doesn't get, talked about enough for his numbers. Melt Wilcox. I like how they put first National appearance, like their rookie debut at the National.
SPEAKER 3: Did they get a patch? Does it go into a card for next year?
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. In the, into the silver packs at the next year's National?
SPEAKER 3: Now, here's something that surprised me. This says Young was a three time all star.
SPEAKER 4: That's it.
SPEAKER 3: I wanna, I wanna to fact check that. I, I would have bet the house he appeared in more than three all star games.
SPEAKER 4: Me too. I would have lost that bet. I would have lost that bet.
SPEAKER 3: Saying Mike. Yeah.
SPEAKER 4: And why, I wonder if there's a re, was there someone that would, there's gotta be someone else that, that was taking away appearances in trouble. Yeah, maybe that's it. But he's still a pretty good ball player.
SPEAKER 3: And he was in a smaller market for voting, you know, back when you had to punch, punch it, through the holes, you know, the, the hanging chads.
SPEAKER 3: All right.
SPEAKER 4: So none of these, none of these, none of these made my, made my picks here.
SPEAKER 3: I'm trying to see if I missed anybody. No, my, my, I have.
SPEAKER 4: Now we go into the other sports.
SPEAKER 3: Yep. I just want to make sure I wasn't missing any of, my guys. All right, football legends and Hall Of Famers first row thoughts, you know, Earl, a sexy name.
SPEAKER 4: God bless Earl Cram. I know he's not in great shape but he's gonna be there, tremendous and he, he caused a lot of headaches for the Steelers back in the, in the seventies. Mel Blount, my Steeler guy.
SPEAKER 4: I have, I have stuff signed by him so he didn't necessarily make my card list. But, you know, being a Steeler, I love Mel bla, you know, offensive linemen so important to the game just don't get a lot of hobby love. Right. But Bo, he's like the, you know, one of the first superstar Jaguars.
SPEAKER 3: That might be, that might be the only one until Trevor.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. So, yeah, I mean, these, you know, Atwater was a great Denver player, on, on the secondary. So, not a bad start in alphabetical order.
SPEAKER 3: And, Atwater Blount Bai and Campbell, All Hall Of Famers. All thi this one, I, I'm gonna go through a, a little bit quicker.
SPEAKER 3: No, no, nobody here to move the needle for me. I'm not a huge.
SPEAKER 4: 11 did, but go ahead. I'Ll, let's go ahead and finish your thoughts and then.
SPEAKER 3: No, I didn't, I didn't have much on this line. So go, go for it and.
SPEAKER 4: I'm pulling up my slide. So I'm gonna cheat. I'm gonna cheat here.
SPEAKER 4: Ah, shoot it won't let me upload it. All right.
SPEAKER 4: I'm not gonna, I wouldn't have a card sign, but I'd have a picture of this gentleman back when he was here in his college days at Syracuse University that hasn't given it away yet. That would be, Larry Zakka, still a legend in this, in this town and, was a bouncer at, at a local bar and, he, you know, nice guy, but he throw people out if he didn't behave.
SPEAKER 4: So, Zach another one of those guys, you know, he's, he's in the hall but it probably doesn't get talked about enough kind of that full back mode. You know, he's kind of Mike all stop before Mike all stopped.
SPEAKER 4: And, and II, I like Larry Zak. I'm a homer, you know, I'm not originally from Syracuse. I was in Syracuse when he was here, but he is a Syracuse legend. So shout out to my guy, Larry Zaka.
SPEAKER 3: And Jim Carver was Marino's roommate at Pitt. Anytime you're known by whose roommate you were, that's probably a better time to get the other autograph.
SPEAKER 3: So moving on and this one cracked me up. Fana Fluty Fels Farra and Eddie George.
SPEAKER 3: I, I'm a doug flutie fan.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, I mean the classic 83 Boston College game. He had a pretty good NFL career CFL career.
SPEAKER 4: Fouts is a guy that just has incredible numbers. Not a Super Bowl ring. I think that hurt him.
SPEAKER 4: Gus Farra, you know, Washington Redskins, legend and Eddie George is a guy too that I don't think gets enough credit, you know, for the numbers he put up and great college player as well. Alan Fana again, Steeler.
SPEAKER 4: None of these guys made my official list, fana, you know, it's, it's weird when you see offensive linemen when they retire and they're like 1/4 of their body weight and they look like they can play wide receiver now. Like I, I always get a kick out of that. So if you've seen Fani in pictures lately, I mean, he doesn't even look like the same guy.
SPEAKER 4: It's, it's kind of weird.
SPEAKER 3: More says the same age as him played high school ball in the same area at the same time. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah, I mean, you know, he just, he's got some of those iconic moments, He broke the mold in the NFL for, for the height of quarterbacks.
SPEAKER 3: The game over Miami, like you said at Boston College, I, I there's, there's just if I have to pick somebody on that line to me, flutie is definitely the one.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, I mean, Gus Farra is really the sort of the low man on that totem bow if you will. No offense. Gus.
SPEAKER 4: You know, but, none of these are, are terrible.
SPEAKER 3: And he was a three sport athlete in high school. There you go.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. Ruben, I will answer, Ruben asked if I saw Pouncey. Yeah, he doesn't even look like this. I don't know what, like offensive linemen they retire and they, they turned into like regular guys.
SPEAKER 3: Well, you know, it shows you how unhealthy it really is for probably their playing.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, it makes you wonder.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah.
SPEAKER 3: All right. Now, this one, I, I was curious, well, I shouldn't say that. I'm curious. I, I know, I, I know that you might have one that stands out above the others on this one. You wanna take this long.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, I mean, Bob Golic, you know, funny when it was when they were on the go show, it's not letting me load my Google Slides, anymore. So I'Ll just have to talk about it.
SPEAKER 4: Two Steelers on this line in Green and Grossman Randy Gratis Hire, Archie Griffin.
SPEAKER 4: I have Joe Green Autos. I do not have a rookie card. Joe Green Auto. So what I would do is if I was doing it, I would bring a Joe Green Auto and have him sign that card. I have Joe Gr, I have Joe Green Autos. I just don't have a Joe Green rookie card auto. I do have a Randy Grossman Auto. I actually have multiple Randy Grossman Autos.
SPEAKER 3: There you go.
SPEAKER 4: Jewish tight end. So there you go.
SPEAKER 3: It that speaking of minority positions, that, that line just, just, I'Ll leave you and I'Ll move on this one. Got me much more excited, Howard Irvin, Bo Edwin James and Calvin Johnson. I'Ll let you get on this line.
SPEAKER 4: None of these guys made my pick but two stand out for me that I would want Bo Jackson and Calvin Johnson. I love Calvin Johnson.
SPEAKER 4: You know, retired kinda Young, sort of like Barry. I don't think he, I think he, he's one of the great wide receivers to ever do it. He's not Jerry Rice. I'm not saying that, but I don't think we talk about Calvin Johnson enough. He's kind of faded a little bit from limelight.
SPEAKER 4: You can say it's his first National appearance and he's, he's not recently retired. He's been retired for a bit. So I don't think he makes a lot of public appearance. So he'd be a guy like to get an autograph card of and Bo Jackson's Bo Jackson. What, what else do you need to say?
SPEAKER 4: Surprise. This is Edgar and Edgar and James first National appearance. I wanna guess that Michael Irvin is there almost every year and you know, will Howard's a Young guy. So with some, you know, Ohio Ohio flavor. So that's where he comes in.
SPEAKER 3: I'm sure people in this chat room know, but there, there's one picture poster card that Bo Jackson will not sign and that's what I want signed. I want this card signed.
SPEAKER 3: If you can find them out on the market, they, they go for a ton of money. That's not why I want it. I want it because it's one of my favorite cards from one of my favorite players of all time.
SPEAKER 3: I just, you know, to me it's, you know, Calvin Johnson and Michael Irvin are the best NFL players on there.
SPEAKER 3: I thought Edaran James was a little bit of got a little bit lucky on the, you know, for him, the, the team he was on but be for me, score a car. No brainer. I knew you. I know that's true for me.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. The problem is he, like you said, he won't sign it though.
SPEAKER 3: I know. Get a picture of him running up the wall in Baltimore. I should, I'm sure I've mentioned I was at that game actually.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah, good thing. The typical monster wasn't there. He definitely not smiling in that picture.
SPEAKER 3: I don't know, is Calvin Johnson on the top five receivers of all time.
SPEAKER 4: I think he's, he's in the conversation man. He's people who played with him speak glowingly of his greatness. And again, he was, I think he fell victim to the lack of success in Detroit. Now we're seeing the lions be successful, you know, had that been the earlier lions?
SPEAKER 4: I think we talk about Calvin Johnson and Barry Sanders in a, in a different way, even though they're both great, they're great. I think we talk about them in a different way even again, even though they are terrific.
SPEAKER 3: This is awesome. Kirk up Bo and Bosworth. That was, yeah, that was a legendary battle. I remember that the, the Boz.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, I watched that. I watched that live. That was something.
SPEAKER 3: This is a good one mad. He said he would absolutely have both signed a Nintendo Tech mobile game cartridge. Would be a cool collectible as we know he was in untouchable.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah.
SPEAKER 3: I asked Megatron or Michael Irvin. Mookie says Megatron Michael is hard to take, Calvin Johnson.
SPEAKER 4: I be I know Dallas Cowboy fans are gonna, you know, gasp here, Calvin Johnson was a better wide receiver than Michael Irvin. I'm not talking about stats. I'm not talking about Super Bowls, I'm talking about their position.
SPEAKER 4: You know, if, if Calvin Johnson was on the Dallas Cowboys instead of Michael Irve, they still win the same amount of Super Bowls. He, he doesn't get to pick who drafts him. He was a better player and people are gonna, people are gonna take him nuts. But I, I that's what I think of Calvin.
SPEAKER 3: Calvin Johnson's numbers were ridiculous and he was getting double teamed. Yeah, I mean, that's just the reality of it.
SPEAKER 4: He didn't even have great quarterbacks, man. You know, I mean, there's no Troy Aikman in Detroit. Yeah.
SPEAKER 3: Here get ready for the rim shot. Michael Irvin was hard nosed.
SPEAKER 3: Yes. All right. Let's, let's see if we can, scroll through fast here. Anybody on this list. Catch your attention.
SPEAKER 4: Put it up, put it up.
SPEAKER 3: Sorry about that Chad Johnson, Cardel Jones, Andy Katson, Moer, Jim Kelly and Joe Cleco.
SPEAKER 4: No, none of these guys made my list but God bless Jim Kelly man. Balin. You know, he was on the brink man and he is still with us. Thank God. And, you know, I'm not far from Buffalo and he's sort of a local, not local.
SPEAKER 4: I mean, he's a Hall Of Famer, but a local hero does a lot of stuff in the community. And so even though he's a bill, you know, I have a soft spot, for Jim Kelly Chad Johnson. Hilarious, dude, maybe we'll go to mcdonald's with you after somewhere in Cleveland, after the signing.
SPEAKER 4: Cardel Jones, I like Cardel Jones in college.
SPEAKER 4: I thought he was gonna do a little bit more in the NFL.
SPEAKER 4: And Joe Cleco late to the hall, but he's in first National appearance. I did, I, I, that's a surprise to me.
SPEAKER 4: So, you know, part of that sack exchange with gas to know and, really good guy from, you know, we talk about good guys like Corey Schneider. Joe Klecko gets a lot of that on the football side of that.
SPEAKER 3: All right, moving on to, I think a more interesting line to talk about here.
SPEAKER 3: You wanna go through this line first?
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, your dude, Ray Lewis, cowboy legend Bob Lilly Johnny Manzel with the Browns and Cleveland Flavor Dan Marino, best quarterback not to have a Super Bowl ring. And Kevin Mawa who's at his first National appearance, another great offensive lineman president of the players union, for many years, as well.
SPEAKER 4: So, some football powerhouse here, even Johnny Manziel, I know he kind of became sort of a butt of jokes, but even he is like, still fairly popular in some circles.
SPEAKER 4: For me, you know, I, I know you're a Ray Lewis guy but Dan Marino, you know, I I wish the Steelers would have drafted him.
SPEAKER 4: They didn't, I think we would have, we would have won a Super Bowl or two more and he would have had a ring.
SPEAKER 4: But he can't argue with the greatness without regardless of the no ring. Dan Marino, one of the best all time Q BS.
SPEAKER 3: Obviously, I love Ray Lewis.
SPEAKER 3: Marino was the guy. I, I actually was a big fan of growing up Baltimore when the Colts left here and went to Indianapolis Baltimore fans did not stay Colts fans that we were kind of a city without a team. So I had family in Miami and actually WW would go down there and watch Marino play more than, than even Washington.
SPEAKER 3: So big more. But you know, Ray Ray to me is the greatest middle linebacker of all time. So Marina would have made Lewis Lips a Hall Of Famer John probably would probably what our Yancey Thick pen, Yancey thick Pen. There's a name I haven't heard.
SPEAKER 3: All right.
SPEAKER 3: Urban Meyer, Joe Montana, Warren Moon, Anthony Munoz and Jonathan Ogden, I think Montana, Montana Moon Munoz and Ogden, maybe in that order, this might be the strongest group of four, forget Urban Meyer.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. Urban Meyer there. You know, you got your Ohio State love there. That's why he's on the bill.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, Montana, arguably one of the, the greatest quarterback moon doesn't get enough credit. Muno Munoz is one of the best offensive linemen of all with Ogden, who gave the Steelers plenty of fits back in, in those trench battles. So, yeah, none of these. None of these are, are terrible. I'm not an Urban Meyer guy necessarily, but not, not a bad. Not some bad. He's got some power here.
SPEAKER 3: That's a good question. What's Montana charging?
SPEAKER 4: I will look that up.
SPEAKER 3: Well, I'Ll move on to the next line here. We're, we're on the home stretch here. This is a great group, Adrian Peterson, Jim Plunkett some safety named Troy Paula, Ma Andre Reed and Jerry Rice.
SPEAKER 3: You could, can't really go wrong in this group.
SPEAKER 3: But I think Jerry Rice, I mean, you're just talking the greatest of all time at his position and on the short list of greatest NFL players of all time.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, Dan Marino. 270 bucks.
SPEAKER 3: Ok. So still less than Mariano Rivera.
SPEAKER 4: Oh, oh, Montana. That was Marino my bad.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah.
SPEAKER 4: Well, well, just for discussion's sake, Marino's 270. Let's check Montana.
SPEAKER 3: I bet Montana is in that 3 to 400 range.
SPEAKER 3: Ruben says that he would take Paul Malo and Jerry Rice. Mark's taking Jim Plunkett. This is a good group.
SPEAKER 4: Jeez, what man, what did I do? Put Montana at the end here? I'm trying to find them.
SPEAKER 3: That'll be awesome.
SPEAKER 3: I'm gonna go to the next line.
SPEAKER 4: Barry said I wanna pick real quick. Let me just add, I'm one of these guys, Jerry Rice. I, I've showed my, I have a an 86 tops rack pack with a Jerry Rice rookie on the top. Still sealed. I had posted a question on my social media and took a poll.
SPEAKER 4: Should I get this rack pack signed? Not open. It just have Jerry Rice sign the Cellophane over his rookie card and like by a 62 to 38 margin, people said no. So I was I was surprised by that. So if I was gonna get a rice autograph, I would have him sign that sealed rack pack.
SPEAKER 3: Interesting. I don't know if I would want to seal on I mean the autograph on the solo fan.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, I guess a lot of 62% of people agreed with you.
SPEAKER 3: I'm not used to that.
SPEAKER 3: Barry Sanders, Donnie Shell, Mike Singletary Bruce Smith or Emmett Smith. I mean Barry Sanders to me is so much cooler than, than, than everybody else.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, Barry Sanders was one of my picks. I have a a select certified 1995 mir gold card, which I love, I just think that would be cool to see sign and how that would look with a signature on it.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah, I mean, Emmitt Smith Bur Smith, great players, but to me it's Barry Sanders. All right on the home stretch here in overtime. Troy Smith Ohio State High, former husband, trophy winner, John Stallworth, Lynn Swan LT and Vinnie Testaverde.
SPEAKER 3: There's two Steelers on here, so I'Ll let you take this one.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. Ii I lo I like John Stallworth more than Lyn Swan. I don't dislike Lynn Swan. I thought he sort of overshadowed. Sta we met Lawrence Taylor in person at the collectible party. He was a riot. Would not let me go. You know, usually those guys are like, get out of here. He was like, hey man, where are you going? Let's keep talking. So that was a real thrill.
SPEAKER 4: But none of these were, were my picks, by the way, Joe Montana is $259.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. But, but if it's something with Tom Brady on it too, that price goes from two something to 1359.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah, that's not true.
SPEAKER 4: That is true. Look it up.
SPEAKER 3: It's, is it really they charge more for it?
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. Hang on, let me, I think I still got it up. Let me, let me present this. Hang on.
SPEAKER 4: I don't know. If you can see it, you blow that up. Look at where it says Tom Brady item 1560 bucks. That is unbelievable. Yeah, I'm gonna stop sharing this to All right.
SPEAKER 3: So on this list, the only two quarterbacks both played for the Ravens. But III I think LT is the best player on this list by far.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, I mean, yeah, I, I can't argue that man. Yeah, he's one of the greatest to ever do it, you know, firing all the off the field stuff.
SPEAKER 3: Shout out to three guys on this list for making their first appearances at the National but not a big fan of the man. Thurman. Thomas was a great player on a great team.
SPEAKER 3: Andre Tippett was a, was a great player but nobody on this line moves the needle for me. How about you?
SPEAKER 4: Oh Mike Tomsic. No, that's, that's facetious. No, Joe Theisman. He's a legend. I don't think he's in the hall. I'm not sure. I don't think he is.
SPEAKER 3: I think he is excellent. He is. Oh no, he's not. You're right. He's college football hall.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. So I think he's the biggest Thurman, but Thurman signs a lot. He's like, I think Dean is the biggest name if you will on the list. But yeah, that, you know it is what it is. They all can't be Jerry.
SPEAKER 3: Rice and the last two.
SPEAKER 3: How's this for a way to wrap it up.
SPEAKER 3: This makes me a Michael Vick fan. What can I tell you?
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, like, listen, Hines Ward. I have stuff signed by him.
SPEAKER 4: I joked with you. I was gonna put up the, the picture of Hines Ward staring down at a, you know, dazed and confused Ed Reed. But, yeah, so then none of them really made my list. But, I'm a big Hines Ward guy in general. So, that's cool. What I would do now, just go through the basketball real quick. You don't have to stop, just name them and we'll, we'll, we'll talk about a player too. I know we're, we're, we're running late.
SPEAKER 3: I mean, Doctor J certainly.
SPEAKER 4: Doctor J made my list. I'd have his rookie card signed.
SPEAKER 3: A I, my son got previously.
SPEAKER 4: It'd be cool if he wrote practice along with his signature or something like that.
SPEAKER 3: Shout out to Cheryl Miller, one of the first female signing at the National.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. How about Greg Oden making the rotation?
SPEAKER 3: Good to see him. I hope his walk. I mean, his knees were bad. David Thompson. I think people forget how great he was. But Dominique Wilkins was, was, I mean, the, the human highlight reel.
SPEAKER 4: Dominic Rodman.
SPEAKER 3: Yeah. Yeah. I, I'd rather have Trinity Rodman. His daughter's the soccer player right now.
SPEAKER 4: All right. Yeah.
SPEAKER 4: And there's some non sports, there's some hockey, for the sake of time you, you know, check the, National's website out for pricing and, and what days they're gonna be there?
SPEAKER 3: Ruben says that Greg is still taking classes at Ohio State.
SPEAKER 3: I, I don't think so.
SPEAKER 3: But, you know, I've been wrong before.
SPEAKER 4: We have to look up what he's doing, you know, I mean, his, his NBA career was, was short and fell short. I wonder what he's, if he's involved in basketball? Is he working for the NBA? Does he run camps? Like I'd be interested to find what he's doing, as a profession or did he make enough money? He doesn't have to work again.
SPEAKER 3: Good questions. Give a quick shout out to two of our sponsors stadium insurance. If you're looking to insure your collection, stadium insurance, you can do it all on their app, just download it and all everything is designed for collectors. So check that out and also a big welcome to a new sponsor.
SPEAKER 3: We'll have gra and everything for the next show. But CIA auctions, if you have not heard of them, check out collector investor auctions and they have an auction that actually started yesterday that I've got a couple of bids in already. So check them.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, so Mookie Mookie must read my mind. I don't know if like he's got the place bugged or wired. But there's another card that it will be a lot less money than some of the prices we talked about with some of the others, but we have the official Mensch baseball card if you will.
SPEAKER 4: I've signed, I've signed this particular card. I've signed my side. Danny is a very tough signer. This is the back of the card. It's number 42. It's skip numbered 1 to 41 does not exist in this set. It's just card number for 42. But we will have these, with us. We are just walking the show. So if you come up and say hello and shake a hand and what have you.
SPEAKER 4: I'm sure you can get one Mookie.
SPEAKER 3: All you gotta do is smile. No chuckles needed.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, we'll get you one Mark. For those that aren't going that do want one. Let me know and, we'll, we'll get one.
SPEAKER 4: We're not charging anything but hey, listen, give, give three or five bucks to your charity of choice and, and we'll count that.
SPEAKER 3: Sounds good. I'm excited. We got one more show before the National.
SPEAKER 4: Despite rumors for the contract, I know I put on social media that this was our last, show until National. Apparently. I don't know how July works, but, stand corrected, we will have another show and then we will, you know what? We should maybe in a future, a future edition, we'll do a variation of the SSP.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah, we didn't do it this time but you never know what might happen in the future. All right.
SPEAKER 3: Well, I, I'm looking forward to the next show because the next show we practically you're gonna be out the door.
SPEAKER 4: I mean, what is it, what, what day, what is it, the 19th, it's our next show.
