As we inch closer to the National, content discussing it will ratchet up and oversaturate the hobby and I confess I will be a big culprit of that. From podcasts, guests & even photos from last year's event will inundate social media into nauseum. I again will be guilty as charged. I understand some will be annoyed by the overhype, some not going may even resort to using a filter to block out "NSCC" or "National" to cut down their exposure.
I get it, if I wasn't able to attend the constant reminders would frustrate me too. However this event comes out once a year...for now and is the Hobby's equivalent to Christmas, the cards we are going to acquire are the presents, people traveling in to the show are like "extended family" coming in to visit for the week and the trade nights, get togethers, parties and after show festivities is the parallel to the big meal and dessert at the table with family. Heck I venture a safe guess that some hold their hobby friends in higher regard than their own flesh and blood(try to work that out for sure).
For those going I'd love to meet you either for the first time or once again, I hope you cross lot of things off your target and needlists but more importantly I hope your enjoy everything this great hobby still has to offer, even with some of the "noise", it truly is a great place to get away to
